Miles Kelly Publishing is an independent publishing company specializing in children’s reference, founded by Jim Miles and Gerard Kelly in 1996 and based in the village of Great Bardfield in Essex, UK.

Our books are available throughout the world and have been translated into over 50 languages. Our aim from the start has been to make children’s reference books that are enjoyable, attractive and educational with innovative features that encourage fun and active learning. The majority of our books are for children between the ages of 6 and 12 years, and our trademarks are superb photo-realistic illustrations, first-class design values in layouts and covers, and exciting and informative text written by experts.

Miles Kelly Publishing’s range of over 800 titles spans reference series, encyclopedias, quiz books, dictionaries, atlases, activity books, poetry, fiction and novelty books, and continues to grow by around 100 new titles every year. Flagship series include the Poster Books, which feature lenticular covers, giant posters and exciting add-on features; the extensive 100 Facts series, which covers key subjects in detail and showcases our stunning artwork; and Action Files, a highly interactive range of web-linked titles that include information cards, posters, stickers, activities and fiction alongside exciting reference material.

In the past we have packaged titles for a wide range of publishing companies including Parragon, Southwestern and Ripley’s Believe it or Not, and we now work with companies around the world such as Barnes & Noble, Grolier, Silver Dolphin Books and Grund to produce co-editions of our titles.
